What Is Deep Web or Dark Web Is?

Hey buddies.....

How's everything going? Still surfing internet? Still thinking that you know almost everything about the internet? Then sorry to say that you are wrong. The portion of internet you are surfing is so small comparing to whole internet. There is another dark side of the internet called the “DEEP WEB”. Let’s clear the concept.

What is Internet?

The Internet, sometimes called simply "The Net", is a worldwide system of computer networks - a network of networks in which users at any one computer can, if they have permission, get information from any other computer (and sometimes talk directly to users at other computers). It was conceived by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) of the U.S. government in 1969 and was first known as the ARPANet. The original aim was to create a network that would allow users of a research computer at one university to "talk to" research computers at other universities. A side benefit of ARPANet's design was that, because messages could be routed or rerouted in more than one direction, the network could continue to function even if parts of it were destroyed in the event of a military attack or other disaster.

Simply saying everything we are surfing with a web browser is through internet i.e. Facebook, Tweeter, Gmail, Any other websites, everything. If you are browsing something, downloading something all of these can only be done through internet.

What is Deep Web?

The name tells everything. If we take the whole internet as a floating mountain then the upper portion we are seeing is called the “The Surface Web”. It is the web we all are using and indexed by some search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. Which covers less than 4% of the total web and visible to everyone. Anyone can access these websites which are available on the surface web and yes these are safe to browse, mostly.

Now comes the Deep Web which can be compared to the lower portion of the mountain which is more than 96% of total web and cannot be accessed normally. These are the sites where confidential data are stored like some government websites data, Bank customers data etc. We don’t have permission to access these. And which are not easily accessible.

What is Dark Web?
Now this is the main topic. The part of the World Wide Web that is only accessible by means of special software, allowing users and website operators to remain anonymous or untraceable. The dark web is the World Wide Web content that exists on dark nets, overlay networks that use the Internet but require specific software, configurations, or authorization to access. It is a part of Deep Web where everyone is anonymous.

Accessing the Dark Web is centered around the anonymity it provides. You can surf both Dark net sites and regular Internet sites while using TOR, for example. It is legal to access the Dark Web as it hosts information and services. It's the illegal services that present risk.

The Dark Web, sometimes referred to as Dark Net, is accessed by Tor (The Onion Router) or I2P (Invisible Internet Project), which use masked IP addresses to maintain anonymity for users and site owners. This way, people who use the dark web for illegal purposes can't be traced.

Although its very difficult to trace the source IP, people do get caught because they are unaware of the right method of using tor. DO NOT EVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING FROM ILLEGAL SITES.
